Good, Clean & Fair

Slow Food’s motto is “Good, Clean & Fair,” but what does that mean? These are very general words, necessarily so, because food touches nearly every aspect of our lives.

The steering committee, during a January 2014 planning session, gathered some definitions of good, clean and fair. Our goal is to provide information, inspiration and events that touch on any or all of these ideas. Everyone comes to food from a different standpoint. For some it’s about taste and pleasure, for others, health. For yet others, it’s about culture and tradition. For many of us, it’s a blend of many elements.
