Code of conduct Slow Food Portland

Code of conduct

Slow Food Portland is dedicated to inclusivity,  collaboration, and community in a safe space. It is our goal to provide everyone of all backgrounds (regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, or socioeconomic status) an ability to come together to share their experiences with each other. In order to maintain this level of environment, we  are adopting a code of conduct that we hold all our members, volunteers, and participants to.

The activities outlined below are strictly prohibited. Any participant or member who violates this Code is subject to discipline, up to and including removal from the program (or participation in future events).

-Abusive language towards a member, volunteer or another participant.
-Bringing onto dangerous or unauthorized materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons or other similar items to a Slow Food event.
-Discourtesy or rudeness to a fellow participant, member or volunteer.
-Verbal, physical or visual harassment of another participant, member or volunteer.
-Actual or threatened violence toward any individual or group.
-Conduct endangering the life, safety, health or well-being of others.
-Failure to follow any agency policy or procedure.
-Bullying or taking unfair advantage of any participant.

Every attendee of a Slow Food Portland event or member of any of our social channels is expected to maintain a respectful and safe level of conduct in all their interactions.

Reporting & Enforcing

If you or someone you know would like to submit a formal complaint, please reach out to hello@slowfoodportland.com.

All reports will be handled confidentially and will also be shared with our national branch Slow Food USA in order to find an appropriate degree of resolution in order for the individual to feel safe again.

Please find any of our board members at a Slow Food Portland event if you have any questions.
