Slow Food PDX benefit tasting with Jacobsen Salt Co.

Join us for a sea salt tasting to benefit Slow Food Portland.

About us:
Slow Food Portland is part of a global Slow Food movement working to change the world through food that is good, clean, and fair. We're committed to creating a food system that preserves nutritional and environmental sustainability, celebrates cultural diversity and fosters accessibility and dignity from field to fork.

The afternoon tasting will feature locally harvested salt from Jacobsen Salt Co. Tour will take place at their SE headquarters and include small bites as well as ample time to explore the tasting room. Ticket sales will support the work of Slow Food Portland.

About Jacobsen Salt Co:

Founded in 2011, Jacobsen Salt Co. was the first company to harvest salt in the Pacific Northwest since Lewis & Clark built their salt works in 1805. Since then it has transformed from a local, small business to a nationally recognized brand as America’s leading salt maker. Harvested from the cold, pristine waters of Netarts Bay on the Oregon Coast, their flake and kosher sea salts have garnered worldwide favor for their beautiful presentation and pure taste by professional chefs and home cooks alike.

How your contribution helps:

With your support, Slow Food Portland will be able to provide scholarships for delegates to attend Terra Madre. A global food gathering that takes place in Turin, Italy every two years. Food activists from all over the world gather to eat, learn and be inspired on how to continue to impact and change their local food system.
