EVENTS

Let us know if you like to help plan & host events. We currently host monthly gatherings called Conviviums, which are social and educational. Through our Conviviums we aim to inspire Slow Food Portland friends to connect with local farmers and producers, support the work of local food system organizations, and join in the conversation on important legislation at the state and national levels.

We also host other types of events, like our annual community pot luck and sometimes we show up at other organization’s events too!

Position Available:

Slow Food Portland Media Production Volunteer

In the interests of increasing inclusion, the Board of Slow Food Portland is committed to making our monthly Convivium events more accessible by recording our guest speakers and archiving talks. We also plan to experiment with sharing select events in real time with online audiences, allowing live interaction from those viewing elsewhere.

To do this, we need help!

We are looking for a Media Production volunteer to advance our mission.

The media production tasks involved include:

  • basic video and audio recording of guest speaker content (with occasional editing to include presenter content after the event);

  • saving and uploading video after the event, coordinating with Slow Food Portland marketing to access our website and social media promotion;

  • managing a live stream of select events: ensuring video/ audio are working, monitoring chat and including online contributions to Q&A, enabling a roving mike, etc;

  • estimated 5-6 hours time commitment per month.

If this sounds like you, please email us.
